How does the Sentiment Map work?
The WEVO Sentiment Map provides a visual view of how participants interact with and respond to a tested asset, such as a static page or experience.
How the Sentiment Map works
During the test, participants are asked to identify both positive and negative aspects of the experience.
- Participants are prompted twice to select areas they like most
- Participants are also prompted twice to select areas they like least
For each selection, they are asked to explain why they chose that specific area in their own words.
This approach captures multiple points of feedback per participant, helping surface more nuanced reactions across the experience.
How results are displayed
The Sentiment Map aggregates all participant clicks into a heat map overlay:
- “Like” selections and “Dislike” selections can be viewed separately
- Areas with more clicks appear more prominently, highlighting where attention is concentrated
- Each click is tied to a participant’s qualitative explanation
You can hover over specific areas of the map to view individual responses, providing direct insight into what users are reacting to and why.
All qualitative feedback is also searchable and filterable, making it easier to explore patterns or investigate specific areas of interest.

You can download the whole-page image of the sentiment map to share with your stakeholders easily.
